Speech meeting at 4:00 in the Media Center on Thursday, January 14

Hello Everyone,

My name is Natasha Sortland, and I am a sophomore here at ZM. I am a member of the Rochester Community Initiative (RCI) and we are currently working on a project to help refugees in the region of Tigray, Ethiopia. There is a humanitarian crisis happening in this region and the refugees are having to flee with no resources. We are looking for donations of clean gently used clothing, preferably fall weather clothing, but anything will work! This resource drive really means a lot to me because many of these innocent refugees have been forced to leave behind their homes and families with little support. Over 45% of the refugees are children without their parents and I believe it is important that youth, like myself, help the less fortunate around the world. A donation box for clothes will be located at the gym entrance in Zumbrota and the big gym doors in Mazeppa. If you would like to make a tax-exempt money donation, our website is linked here. When making the donation, leave a comment like "Tigray Refugee Crisis" to make sure it goes to the right spot. If you have any questions, send an email to! Thank you for your generosity!
